Prof Dr Abdul Aziz has been a member of the Board since 2017.

He was past President of IMU Health Sdn Bhd, Vice-Chancellor and CEO of IMU University. He was also Chair of IMC Education  Sdn Bhd, the college under IMU Group. After his tenure as the Vice-Chancellor, he took the post of Senior Advisor to the International Office at the IMU. His wisdom and experience with international partnerships provides added value in differentiating IMU Internationalization strategies among the IPT in Malaysia.

Prof Dr Abdul Aziz has wide experience in medical education. He held various leadership positions within the Medical School of University Sains Malaysia (USM), as Dean, Deputy Dean and Head of Department of Medicine.He has been a member of the Council of Medical School Deans of Malaysia as well as the Malaysian Medical Council from 2006 to 2013. He is a committee member of the MMC/MQA/JPA Joint Technical Committee and he was elected as a Council Member of the Vice–Chancellors of Private Universities Council in January 2019. He is also on the technical expert panel (Medicine) for the MQA.
